Valentine’s Day Decorations

With the success of our Christmas decorations, we decided to also do something for Valentine’s Day. Of course, we reused the shepard’s crooks and purchased a third Holly bush to balance out the site. We again found the materials we wanted at Michael’s: a heart-shaped wreath, sparkly red garland, red plastic pails, artificial flowers to make nosegays for the buckets, 3-D hearts on stakes, and an assortment of Valentine’s-Day-themed stickers.

These decorations weren’t as elaborate as those we set up for Christmas; however, they did put us in the holiday spirit and garnered compliments from two other park residents. We considered that to be a win.

We wrapped each crook with garland and hung a nosegay-stuffed pail on each. Two 3-D heart stakes were stuck in the soil of each Holly, and I went crazy with all the other stickers. I attempted to make the rock shield on the front window look like the stickers were exploding upward but failed miserably. Birds roosting above Arthur dropped us their sentiments at no additional cost. Nice!

Here’s the explosion effect I was after.
