Delay of Game

Notice the long gap in posting? We have a list of excuses the topmost being needing a class in Blogging for Dummies. That includes confirming the site name. Identifying correct login info. How to post a video. How to most productively scream at each other when we don’t get it. Thankfully we have our site designer Danielle to patiently stand at the ready, calm us down, wipe our tears.

Meanwhile

11/14/19 – After successfully implementing our anti-freeze solution of the plastic skirt onto Arthur (our trailer), we unwrapped and pulled him over to Southaven RV in Southaven MS. We decided getting expert and qualified help to put heating blankets on our tanks was more prudent than any possibility we could conjure up ourselves. Their ability to take him in and our schedule to visit our son perfectly synchronized. (whew)

So, we headed off to Des Moines, IA because we weren’t cold enough. Okay, I take it back. We were really going to visit son Chad, DIL Elizabeth, and grandson Jake. The goal (pun intended) was to visit them and go to an Iowa State home game. Our oldest son is an alum and our grand-niece Madison is part of the cheer team.

Happy Family

11/16//19 – Des Moines and Ames were in the throes of a thaw, so snow, slush, mud (oh my!). Pictured in the RV where we tailgated in warmth before the game. Wearing long underwear and adding ski jackets on top of the layers kept us from actually freezing although we were skittering along that edge. I wound up seeking out an ISU clothing vendor to buy a blanket. Blankets sold out, so I figured an XL jersey across the legs would help. Returning to my seat I espied Chad pretending hard to be warm enough and instead put the jersey on him. While he did not decline the jersey, he maintained to the end that he was “fine.” I found survival warmth snuggled up between Chad as my windbreak and Ran sitting on my lap to keep my legs warm.

Okay: the Game. ISU was playing UT. Son Jon’s fiance’ was a Longhorn so our allegiances were split. Unranked ISU beat #25 Texas 23-21.
